Tips to get healthy teeth

Tips to get healthy teeth

The healthier your teeth are, the happier you look. it's important
to take great care of your teeth by brushing, flossing, and visiting the  dentist
After you eat, bacteria go crazy over the sugar on your teeth, like ants at a picnic.

The bacteria break it down into acids that eat away tooth enamel, causing holes called cavities. Plaque also causes gingivitis (say: jin-juh-vi-tis), which is gum disease that can make your gums red, swollen, and sore. Your gums are those soft pink tissues in your mouth that hold your teeth in place.
If you don't take care of your teeth, cavities and unhealthy gums will make your mouth very, very sore. Eating meals will be difficult. And you won't feel like smiling so much.

Tips to get healthy teeth

1- Visiting dentist regularly:regularly visiting the dentist is very important for having healthy teeth. Even when you don't sense any problem with your teeth, going for a checkup would never be harmful. A regular visit to dentist would ensure that you donĂ¢€™t have any tooth problems and an apt treatment if you do have one. You should go for professional cleaning and teeth examination from a dentist once in at least 6 months.

2- Regular brushing and flossing:
The most basic step towards having healthy teeth is brushing and flossing regularly. You should brush at least twice a day, in the morning and in the night after dinner. Brushing and flossing ensures that you have healthy, neat and clean teeth. Choosing a right toothbrush and floss is also very important.

3- Don't overlook teeth problems:
often adults have teeth problem like gum swelling or gum bleeding. One should never avoid these problems as they tend to get bigger and worse with time. You should immediately see your dentist if you encounter such teeth problems.

4- Having a balanced diet: a balanced diet is not only good for your body but also for your teeth. Avoid foods which have high sugar content and also fizzy drinks as they could lead to tooth decay. Especially in summers when saliva is less in mouth, having sweetened foods would make the sugar stick to the teeth and lead to tooth decay.

5- Avoid tobacco products:eating tobacco products and smoking cigarettes is also harmful for teeth. They affect the gums and could also cause mouth and throat cancers.
